Our Mission:

To accelerate the transition to a clean economy with prosperity for all

Clean & Prosperous Washington is a team of business leaders working along with labor, tribes, environmental organizations, and social justice advocates to enact and implement smart climate policies in Washington state. We inform approaches to drive down greenhouse gas emissions, improve health and job outcomes, propel a stronger, more globally-competitive economy, and serve as a beacon of best-in-the-nation climate action for other states to emulate.

The CaPWA coalition proved effective in helping the cap-and-invest Climate Commitment Act win passage in Olympia, and is now actively helping to implement the CCA as the cornerstone of an entire suite of environmental laws including the Clean Fuel Standard and the HEAL Act – Healthy Environmental for All. CaPWA brings an action-oriented, data-driven, strategic business approach to moving public- and private-sector climate work forward with urgency.

Overwhelming support from a broad-based coalition accelerates climate action in Washington state

Environmental groups. Energy companies. Local employers. Equity advocates. These voices and many more agree: The Climate Commitment Act (SB 5126) is exactly what Washington needs right now. Passage of this legislation was a huge start toward reducing statewide emissions equitably, and in a way that will boost our economy at this crucial moment.
