Sam Ricketts is a co-founder and co-director for Evergreen Action, a group of former Inslee for America staffers leading the fight to put bold climate action at the top of America’s agenda. Since its founding in 2020, Evergreen Action has played a pivotal role in the development of national climate policy, with major influence shaping and advancing President Biden’s climate agenda, including the Inflation Reduction Act. Ricketts is also a nonresident senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.

Ricketts will give an overview of the Inflation Reduction Act’s climate investments and tax credits, what they mean for organizations looking to build new projects, and how they’ll charge our state’s clean economy.

Already the Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act is spurring an onshoring revolution. EV and battery manufacturers have moved to expand their operations in the U.S., including more than $13 billion in domestic EV manufacturing investments and $24 billion in battery investments in 2022 alone. “This is just the beginning of a long-term shift that’s going to take place,” Rachel Patterson, a policy lead at climate advocacy group Evergreen Action, told Protocol.
